    Lay turds, huh?

The SEC had four out of the final 16. Yeah, that conference sucks ass.

With as many home regionals/Super Regionals as the SEC had, it should have done better.

And advanced the smallest possible number (1) to Omaha.

'Bama hosted a super regional, and got bounced. Ole Miss hosted a super regional, and got bounced. Arkansas and Kentucky didn't make it out of the regionals played on their home fields.

A good conference, sure, but not its best postseason.

Certainly not its best postseason, nor was anybody expecting it to be when the season started. Most SEC teams lost a lot of players last year. I remember Georgia coach David Perno talking in March 2005 about how this would be a down year for the conference because of all the veteran players lost. Nice coincidence that he's the only SEC coach headed to Omaha.

I mentioned his prediction at last year's CWS, where I was met with skepticism when I said watch out for Kentucky in the SEC East this year.  ;D

The SEC bounces back in a big way next season. There's my fearless prediction of June 2006.

And we shall meet at the Upstream and be rejoiceful, and it shall be good, and J.D. can once again get the Omaha steak sandwich he's missing out on this year.

That's my prediction for June, 2006.

Should be an interesting CWS. Lots of newer faces and several dark horses for the title.
