Thank goodness. I thought it was just me ... Wilhelmsson went down like he was shot to draw that card. And was that a rat-tail I saw on the back of his head? Sheesh.

That was a great game and I'm not even a huge soccer fan; however, that was the soccer equivalent of Sweden losing to Belarus in hockey.

Absolutely agree on Dellacarmara. Knows the game inside and out. I have no idea why he's been bumped down.
Still, I like the Adrian Hansley-Tommy Smyth combo despite the fact they're sitting in a Bristol studio. Very entertaining to listen to.

Now I remember why I don't watch soccer. These Argentinians are pathetic. I'm starting to think there's a sniper in the stands or something.

  5. Drogba was fouled in the box...should have been a pk

Saw that and thought so, too.

Agreed. Why have the damn rule on the books if the refs are too afraid to call it 90-95 % of the time?

The dude was taken down in the box. He didn't flop. Give Ivory Coast the freakin' PK. I'll be interested to see their post-game quotes.

Given Drogba's flopping history he'll probably have to lose a limb before a ref will award a PK these days.

It cracked me up that they kept putting up a graphic explaining that Sweden was in yellow and TnT was in red. No shit? The 11 blond guys in yellow are the Swedes? The 10 black guys in red are from Trinidad? Thanks for clearing that up.

Agreed, but I think one Swede was a dirty blond. :D

If there are any Vermont scribes here, the girls soccer coach at Brattleboro High, Hayden "Socksy" Martin, use to play on the Trinidad & Tobago National Team. He's a great guy. He must've loved today's draw.

Nice job, ESPN. In their nightly wrapup show, they did not show Ivory Coast's Drogba getting clobbered in the penalty area.

    Thanks, guys.
