Ivory Coast blows a 2-on-1. Prime scoring chance wasted. As Ally McCoist would say on my old FIFA PS2 game "Should have done better."

The goal's netting is like an onion bag. As such, when a friend opened a soccer store. He named it The Onion Bag.

"Bulging it" would be popping it out through the action of the ball hitting the inside.

Just a fancy way of saying "He scored."

What's up with Celtic being listed third behind Real Madrid and ManU!?!   ;D

On the replay, it looks like the GK takes a move left and then goes right -- and just misses. Makes you wonder if he would have gotten it if he was going right the whole time.

Is it just me or does IC lose the ball too many times on attack by passing to areas where they just don't have players?

Ivory Coast just had the tying goal cleared off the line, Van Pearsy (sic) chesting it out.

EDIT - Healey: "It was a corridor of confusion in there."

The Netherlands are really making this hard on me and themselves. This is not a team that's going to be able to run with the Argentines, not the way both played today.

It is interesting since the guys there are Celtic supporters.

And FuerteJ... They are going to have a rough time with Argentina. No doubt about it. But if the Netherlands would rather play Mexico than Portugal, they will have to show up for it and play their ball control game.

Argentina just got the six-goal curse. When was the last time a team scored six goals or more in the World Cup and still won the tournament?

    These come to mind:

    2002: Germany, 8-0 over Saudi Arabia, runner-up.
1998: Spain, 6-1 over Bulgaria, out in first round.
1994: Russia, 6-1 over Cameroon, out in first round.
1986: Denmark 6-1 over Uruguay, out in second round. Soviet Union 6-0 over Hungary, out in second round.
1982: Hungary, 10-1 over El Salvador, out in first round.
