If she plays as well in that dress as I did this morning, she's on cruise control to the final. :D

Must be some kind of Grand Slam karma going on.

The past week I've hit the ball about as well as ever.***

    ***which isn't saying much, but . . .

Serena now in charge, up a set and a break, despite not playing all that well.

Vaidisova had set point on serve in the first set... loses the point, gets broken, loses the set in a tie-break...end of match.

One more player who just isn't tough enough to beat an out-of-shape not at her best Serena.
None of these kids she's beaten so far are 1/10th as tough as Serena is. When she looks vulnerable, they choke. When they look vulnerable, Serena pounces.

SI's Jon Wortheim wrote about that recently, saying that the tour needs to come up with some sort of stat on how players do on the crucial points. Serena has missed a lot of shots in this tournament, but she's won just about every point that mattered.

I'll be up with Roddick-Federer starting at 12:30 here on the west coast. Hopefully it isn't a 5 hour marathon but I'm stocking with plenty of caffeine and spicy peanuts.

Maybe break points for and against, set points for and against, and others. It would be hard to define.

By the way, last night Hingis looked better than she ever has.

And I'll be among those staying up for Roddick-Federer.

EDIT: Wow, Serena should have just won but didn't have a challenge left.

    Great quote from Serena:

“I almost did a gagarooney there,” said Williams, explaining: “Basically, you know gagging.”

Without being too much of a male pig I never noticed Clijsters'...assets...And to think all this time I liked her for her personality.

Kimmie's the most underrated woman on tour. She doesn't pretty herself up for matches, so she flies under the radar.

Which is very cool. I've always thought she was extremely cute, but moreso from the fact that she carries herself with a similar class and grace that the old guard of women's tennis did. Much like I enjoy Sharapova for her fire, intensity...and her height.

I noticed those "assets" in her match against Hingis, when both ladies were looking great.
