Running Aussie Open Thread...

It's cute. Much better than the blue maternity-looking dress from last year.

I really like the flower detail on the skirt, but that's the girl in me coming out.

 

So if you were to wear it, some kind of cute explosion would occur then?

 

Imagine a short, white Serena Williams in that dress. That's what you'd get. An explosion of sorts, but I wouldn't call it cute.

 

And the good news of the day is Andy Murray is through in straight sets.

 

Sharapova breezed through. She looked pretty good after that mess that was her opening round match.

 

I understand four pages of talk about the foul, nasty creature (can I steal this one, SC? It's just ... well, it's too accurate ;D)

But only one post about Hingis breezing through the first two rounds? Hmm, let's fix that. And, as the resident Hingis obsessor, I'll start the honors:

6-2, 6-2 over Alla Kudryavtseva tonight.

(And because I wasn't around the last couple days, I'll belatedly add that I'm upset Baghdatis went down. He's got a long ways to go, but he sure is fun to watch.)

It is quite pretty I suppose. I kinda liked the nightie from last year though

 

I think Maria looks much better in that dress than in the baby doll blue of last year.
Meanwhile, Hingis has played very well in breezing through 2 matches, and looks to be in great condition, and, like Buckweaver I've always loved Martina.
Kim Clijsters has begun her farewell tour (retiring at age 23 to settle down and have a family!) with two very easy wins.
Top of the women's draw could be very interesting.

And I'm glad to see Baghdatis out. He looks like a bum who just walked in off the street.

And sportschick, the short, white Serena image doesn't really work because there is absolutely no way your butt can be as huge as Serena's is right now.

 

Awwww, spnited, that's sooo sweet.

 

when i was in vegas i put down $10 on hingis (at 10-to-1) and $10 on blake (at 18-to-1) to win so i'm in good shape so far.

 

Damn. Serena looks so, well, round right now. I haven't actually seen a match, so maybe she's in better shape than she looks.

Course I'm rooting for her, cause she's not thin and blonde, so ya know.
