Because they did a great job of sweeping the Yankees two weeks ago, too.

    I sincerely doubt it'll last.

Mike, I don't care about reality. I will talk smack about the Royals beating the Yankees no matter the time nor place, because I'm an optimist like that. Besides, it's fun to provoke Angola like that.

You can seriously look at that division and think they won't win it?

Name one reason — other than them being the Cubs — why they won't win it.

I guess reality really gets some people nothing but down since, I don't know, 1985. I'll be rooting for the Royals whenever they play the Yankees. If New York could somehow manage to lose 100 games this year, I might be the happiest boy in the world.

Mike, I'm not sure why you feel the need to bash on the Royals here. Seems too easy to do. Are you a St. Louis fan?

Way to go JJ Putz, blowing a solid performance from King Felix. The Mariners could be blowing a chance to be tied for the wild card lead.

Finally, that $300 million in offseason spending is paying off.

The Cubs might be the national darling in all this, but to hell with them. If it can happen in Milwaukee, it can happen in KC. And if it's gonna happen in KC, it's gonna happen the way its happening in Milwaukee. At least in my demented mind.

Here's a toast to the Brew Crew.

I still like the Brewers' chances. I think they've got a deep pitching staff and a better lineup than the Cubs.

I'd take that bet. Anyone see the Gordon HR? Some d-bag on CBS sportsline said he hit it to Pluto.

No, I'm not a St. Louis fan. I suppose I like the Royals about as much as I like the Cardinals -- primarily because I've heard both play in tremendous baseball towns. It is easy to poke fun at Kansas City. I'd like to see them do well for an entire season. But I don't think it'll be anytime soon as long as they've got Moore running the show.

The only teams I do not like are the Braves and the Yankees. However, I respect the hell out of those franchises.
