Bobby Cox gets looked past again.

Maybe by some. But he should get a good amount of votes. If the Braves end up winning the East or the NL, Cox definitely has the best shot. However, Black and Pianella are in their first years. And Pianella and Melvin are completely turning around franchises that were left for dead last season.

Cox, however, is just heading a third-place team back into contention.

This is the beginning of the end for the Cubs.

Ryan Dempster is one of the worst closers in baseball. And giving up three runs in a non-save situation doesn't help him out any.

Make that a four-run ninth inning, thanks to Jose Reyes.

    17 saves in 19 chances....truly horrific.

And, like many closers, he is pretty damn awful in non-save situations.

After his last season (1-9, nine blown saves), I wouldn't trust that guy to close a lunch box.

    Which one, Reyes or Dempster?

Mr. Teixeira, you're a great hitter, but I think the Braves want you to field routine grounders that aren't misplayed into 2-run contacts.

Colorado 2-0 in top-1. Smoltzy, you deserve better.

A post just for BYH: In his first Yankee Stadium at bat, Alex Gordon drills a garbage double.
