Running baseball thread part VIII

Line drive hit Ryan Braun in the shoe and went into the seats.

 

Ryan Braun loaded the bases for ARod, with the Yanks leading 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth.

 

Weird.

ARod up with the bases loaded. No one has ever hit 500 with a grand slam.

 

ARod with a sac fly.

 

1st and 2nd, Chipper up, 2 strikes, and Francis blows one by him, chest-high, and Chipper swings and misses.

Teixiera up to the bat next ...

 

Wonder how long it will take him to hit it.

Who will homer first, Bonds or ARod?

 

Teixeira fouls off several 3-2 pitches, then Francis rips a heater on the outest of the outside corner, knee-high, STRIKE 3! Great pitch. 2 outs.

 

Francis is nails. I love watching him. He pitched in college against my tiny alma mater and absolutely destroyed us, throwing a 1-hitter and I believe a no-hitter.

 

Andruw with a U rips the 1st pitch that should've buzzed the grass into left field, but Atkins takes a half-step to his left and vacuums the ball and throws to second for the inning-ending force. Gold-glove caliber. Francis escapes unscathed.

Colorado 4, Braves 1.

 

ARod's been having good at-bats. He's driving the ball, where as Bonds is hacking away.

 

Smoltz strikes out Holliday on a check-swing (nasty breaking ball) for career K No. 2,900.

Atkins rips a 3-run ding dong over the left-center fence.

Colorado 7, Braves 1.
