Dotel is struggling, loading the bases with 1 out. Is this his debut for the Braves?

I knew you'd check in Hank! You're my Tigers insider.

Bonderman's been bad early in the last two starts I've watched. He settles in, but too late.

  3. Forgive me for my ignorance earlier.

I just need Boston, Detroit and Cleveland to lose as often as possible.

And Dotel serves up a granny. 6-4 Braves.

No, it's his third. He's pitched two scoreless innings before tonight.

Bonderman's been like that the whole year. His first inning ERA is 10.13 or something like that.

In the rest of the innings, he is around 2.50 or so.

Well in his defense, Escobar did make an error to prolong the inning.

What happened to the Larry experiment at short? I know he's at third now. It looked like he was having fun on Thursday.

No experiment, but boy he did look smooth playing there, didn't he? Renteria got hurt, so they replaced him with Escobar midgame. Escobar went to third because he's not comfortable at short, Chipper took a few innings at his original spot. Pretty cool to watch.

I don't like Larry -- ahem, Shea -- but man is he a good player and fun to watch when he's healthy. It really did look like he was a kid again when he was playing short. It reminded me a little of when Ripken took his old position in the 2001 All-Star Game. It's real cool to watch the past for the second time, so to speak.

Who knows what fortunes would have changed if Chipper doesn't blow his knee out in 1993 -- and takes over the shortstop job like he was set to?

Do the Braves repeat as NL champs and knock off the Blue Jays to win that elusive first World Series? With Chipper entrenched at short, do they trade off an in-his-prime Blauser for, say, an in-his-prime Todd Zeile to replace Pendleton at third?

Can you imagine those old Atlanta teams without Pendleton and Blauser? I know I can't.
