Running baseball thread part VIII

And Jake Peavy is on to pinch hit in the ninth inning.

 

And he's 0-for-2 this season after his pop out to second. Nice try, Bud Black.

 

Extra innings and I have a 9 a.m. assignment a half hour outside of the city tomorrow.

Damn it!

Yup. 2:01 EST. Seven hours from my assignment.

 

Good for you. If I begin watching a game, I find myself committed until the end. It's a curse instilled in me since I was a little boy.

 

Why do I punish myself?

I have a 9 a.m. job and 2 p.m. job and I'm hoping to be home by dinner and then watching the Mets game at 8 p.m.

Thank god the wife is with the mother-in-law at the cottage this weekend.

 

A few years ago I was listening to a west-coast Brewers 15-inning game on MLB.com Audio and I swear even Uecker thought he was the only one still interested. Although at one point he begged "for anyone, on any team, to end it."

I hope this is genetic. I need someone to watch these games with sometime in the future. That way I won't be posting for hours at a time. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
