For his career, Gil Meche isd a barely .500 pitcher with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. I'd say the bad starts occur with some regularity.

How bad is the Tigers offense struggling when Gavin Floyd is shutting them out through 4?

Lovin' that stellar Phillies defense right now.

    Okay.

From now on, because any New York Yankees talk offends Doc and his sensabilities, we won't talk about them anymore. We don't want Doc to be annoyed, so no Yankees talk. Ever.

I'll get it started: Those Astros really suck, don't they?

Today is Gil Meche's seventh start since the beginng of July. Those 7 starts include:

    July 7, Tampa Bay ... 6 IP, 6 R, 5 H, 4 W
    July 14, Cleveland ... 5 IP, 4 R, 8H
    July 25, Yankees ... 7 IP, 5 R 9 H
    Today, Yankees ... 4+ IP 6 R, 6 H, 5 W

"The bad starts are few and far between" ... my ass

  8. Remember when Mayfly said if the phillies won 5 of 7 this week, they'd be leading the wildcard?

They're on their way to losing 5 of 7.

The Minnesota Twins -- who, through no real doing of their own could pull within 4.5 games of the division lead with a win today -- are hitting Jason Tyner leadoff.

Where have you gone, Dan-ny Gladden, a region turns its lonely eyes to you, ooh-ooh ooh.

What's that you say, Mr. Ryan, the Dazzle Man has left and gone away?

HB -- that moniker isn't going to work. It'll fuck up my pitching glances.

Howzabout "Douchenozzles Formerly Known as the Bronx Bombers" or DFKATBB for short?

Well, you've been ridiculously stupid about this for two days now.
