Probably the last one to hit 300 for a while. Can't imagine Johnson coming back to get the 15 or so needed.

Whoa, Rick Peterson didn't have a jacket on and zipped up to the top.

I missed that. Was he wearing a jersey. Because, that's why he's always got the jacket on, he doesn't wear a jersey.

Tom Glavine, the last of the 300 game winners.

He needs 16 more. I can see him coming back, but I think he'll come up a bit short. Of course, he is an old lefty. They just don't die.

Congrats Tommy! This Braves fanboy loser will sleep well knowing that No. 300 is in the books. :D

That's probably why he won the game tonight. Tom Glavine cares about everyone.

Outing alert: Hockeybeat is Early Wynn.

  9. So does Piniella have the stones to make Wood the closer?

They don't want him to pitch any more than one inning. Might as well be the ninth.

Make Dumpster/Marmol the set-up men and send Will Ohman to the bottom of Lake Michigan.

I'm pretty sure he was making eye contact at one point there in the ninth inning. Hard to tell, given that he was in Chicago and I was tuning in from Atlanta, but I'm pretty sure he was looking at me :)

I thought they were planning to do that a couple years ago. You know, the Wood-to-closer deal; I heard no plans of drowning Ohman -- at least not from Cubs brass.

He did have a jersey on.
