I have faith. Losing Soriano for a few weeks won't shake that. But if Hendry doesn't bring up Pie, then I also will hate this fucking team.

It's way too early to give up on the Cubs. With their history, I think it's more likely they'll play well without Soriano, then when he comes back in September, they'll go 5-20.

 

They finally get Wood back and now Soriano's out, maybe for a month. Typical. Just fucking typical.

And a giant Fuck You to Bud Selig and MLB for giving them a grand total of two fucking days off in August. Fuck you Bud.

 

The Cubs have to stay in the race until the final weeks of the season and then choke spectacularly, dropping something like eight games in a row, the final loss culminating in Pinella opening up on the left-field bleachers with a high-powered deer rifle while Moises Alou urinates on a young fan and Kerry Wood spontaneously combusts.

Anything else is completely unacceptable.

 

So Alou is coming back in late September for a guest spot?

 

Even with Soriano they had the worst defensive outfield in professional baseball. The bulk of their bullpen couldn't retire three guys from this messageboard with men on base and they only have one starter who can pitch into the seventh inning on a regular basis. They're done.
