Yeah, but unlike Neffi, he did it the right way.

Crap. Just saw this on Yahoo. Probably a d_b.

"The latest from the MRI was that there is a small tear in the quad," manager Lou Piniella said before Monday night's game against Houston. "It's about one centimeter. We think he'll be out four-to-six weeks. We think it will be around Labor Day. We were expecting this. It could have been worse."

Send Cedeno down and get Pie up here, stat.

Olney reported that about a half-hour ago. That's a shitty break for the Cubs.

Six consecutive strikeouts by Cubs batters. Swell.

  5. Can't believe the D-Rays just let that fly ball fall. Might have cost a chance for the Yanks to get a wild card lead tonight.

  6. Cubs last six batters -- K K K K K K.

Didn't hit the ball out of the infield the inning before that.

Tonight's the night. And he'll do it against Long Island's finest: John Lannan.

And he'll do it with Dumb and Dumber among the broadcasters: Sutcliffe and Erin Andrews. Lord, if you're up there, have Barry do it in the first AB so we don't have to listen to them anymore.

I've got Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow doing the game on my FSN Bay Area feed on MLB Extra Innings.

And a balding, middle-aged man in Birkies angrily charged the mound. Frightening, that.

Exceedingly, though subtly, well played, sir.

Good God, Rick Sutcliffe makes me wish I was deaf.
