How about Carlos Pena hitting his 22nd home run of the season today and batting near .300? Where was this the rest of his career?

Phillies were absolutely murdered today, with Pujols being the prime suspect. That man just went off today. His first home run was a moonshot. At least I got on ESPN twice tonight at the game with my sign.

I want to take some good out of the 10,000th loss in the franchise's history. How about at least Michael Bourne hit a home run, the first in his career? Burrell is inching his way out of Philadelphia with his lack-luster play (could be argued he took his first step when he landed in Philly)?

He sure inched his way around left field tonight. He's the best in the majors at turning routine flyballs into doubles.

Better than Bobby "I'm scared of the wall" Abreu or Manny "I play deep shortstop" Ramirez?

Just curious, what did the sign say?

I believe so. It's debatable, for sure.

But both of those guys could DH. Burrell just has the bench.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/phillies/20070715_Phillies_lose_No__10_000.html

"With fans bringing homemade signs that read "Let's Worry About 10,000 Tomorrow" and "10,000 IS NOT IN THE CARDS," the Phils had hoped to sweep St. Louis in Philly for the first time since 2003."

    Was it either of those?

Beckett will get the wins you need BYH, but he sure isn't going to win the Cy Young. Not with his ERA. Johan or C.C., if he gets it going again, will win the Cy Young.
