And a half-season of good play earns Eric Wedge a three-year extension.

I think his point is that both of the teams had positions where you would expect injuries, the Yankees have had more than you would expect, the Tigers virtually none. So he expects some balance.

Rome was saying today (I know, I know, what the fuck are you doing listen to that pud ... RACK 'EM) that someone in Philly had "10,000 loses" on the sign. Can anyone confirm that sign?

He has pitched pretty poorly at times. I heard he was topping out at 89 mph on his fastball yesterday, but then again if he can still get his knucklecurve over I don't see why he can't survive on being a junkball pitcher.

They might have. I didn't see any bed sheets up there in the two games I went to. I am sure they might have been on the little signs kids were holding or the typical Phans. I cannot confirm or deny it, but I didn't see it.

Sheets to the DL ... Manny Parra, who threw a perfect game earlier this year in AAA, called up. Gallardo to fill in for Sheets in the rotation.

Can the Brewers ever have Sheets OFF of the DL?

Nope, it's one of those annual rites of summer.

It was on a big sheet hanging somewhere behind right-center Friday. Very conspicuous and very funny.

All things considered, 15 days on the DL and a negative MRI are the next best thing to Sheets being completely healthy given the gloom and doom after the injury itself.

Kyle Davies, P, ATL: 0 IP, 5 batters faced, 2 H, 3 BB, 2 ER. Saved by the bullpen.

Maybe it's time for the Braves to send Davies someplace exotic .... like Rome or Myrtle Beach.

It's looking like I'll be able to catch a White Sox game (vs. Toronto) later this month. Any thoughts on U.S. Cellular Field, or at least to watch out for any father and son tag team ready to jump onto the field?
