Well ... Baseball tonight just said for 30 minutes that Kendall had been traded for Sean Marshall, and I almost threw up on the floor. But, they eventually apologized and said it was for Bowen and minor league pitcher Blevins, a pretty good but up-and-down prospect.

I think I like the move. Soto still might be the guy for the future, and I hope they keep him up because he has been RAKING this year in Iowa. But Kendall is a rental, and he can handle his staff, and the Cubs are 16-4 in their past 20 games, when they've had an automatic out in the catcher spot. I don't know. I'm on vacation and just came in to watch the end of the Cubs' game. Maybe I'm not thinking clearly. I reserve the right to change my mind on this trade.

And Bowen ... I hope you didn't buy a house in Chicago. Thanks for stopping by.

ARod homers again and Igawa pitched decent, but stinking Gabbard throws a complete game shutout. What the hell Royals? It's Kason Gabbard?

Igawa pitched decent?! What the hell are your standards for decency?

The Standard PubeTM Quality Start: 6 IP, 4.50 ERA and, most importantly, a win. Because, as we all know, wins are the most important element in gauging a pitcher's effectiveness.

    And ERA, Doc. ERA.

Suck my cock and have a very happy Jason Kendall Got Traded Today Day.

OK, he didn't pitch decent, but he pitched better than he has this year. How about that?

Gabbard took a no-hitter going into the fifth of his last start, didn't he? And really, you can't complain about the Royals when your $200 million payroll climbed above .500 for the first time in three weeks Sunday. They got no one to blame but themselves.

I can complain about the Royals if I want. They have a pretty good offense and should have managed more, but you are right Gabbard has pitched pretty well lately.
And, hey, above .500 is moving in the right direction.

OK, wait ... since when do the Royals have a pretty good offense The No. 5 hitter (Emil Brown) bats .237 with little to no power, really. It's good at times, but it's been a downright miserable lineup much of the season.

And moving above .500 is moving in the right direction ... if you're the Royals.

Well, apparently I haven't paid enough attention to the Royals, I thought they had a decent offense. Hopefully they rough up Wakefield and Tavarez the next two nights.

And sadly, for the 2007 Yankees, moving above .500 is at least some direction.

They can be misleading, because they have scored 17 runs in a game three times this season. Seems like they score in bunches sometimes, then go into a funk. And they just sent sparkplug Joey Gathright back to Triple-A Omaha despite batting .315, which puzzles me.

Hopefully, they score 17 tomorrow night against Wakefield and then 17 more Wednesday against Tavarez. :D
