What New York needs to do is pace itself. The Mets will need some runs for the rest of the series.

What are you, on fucking crack??

Seriously. Don't be fucking stupid. Mike Piazza? An automatic out? I don't have the time for this, but I'm doing it anyway: Piazza's stats in a Mets uni:

    1998: .348, 23, 76 in 109 games
    1999: .303, 40, 124 in 141 games. AS A CATCHER.
    2000: .324, 38, 113 in 136 games
2001: .300, 36, 94...on one of the worst offensive teams I have ever seen
    2002: .280, 33, 98
    2003: .286, 11, 34 (groin goes boom)
    2004: .266, 20, 54
    2005: .251, 19, 52

No denying he fell off a cliff over his last three years, but his first four years witih the Mets are the best offensive years they ever got out of someone not named Darryl. If they had anyone around him in 2000, they would have won the World Series. And what he did in 2001 is remarkable.

    Fuck man. Don't be stupid.

Oh, and hurray for Glavine losing (sorry Buckdubs). Now he's got a chance to get his 300th win on the road, away from the shithole and away from a marketing/publicity bonanza even the Mets could not piss away. Looks like the earliest he can get it now is July 31 in Milwaukee.

But if he doesn't win his next two starts, he can go for 300 at home............against the Braves. Fuck. C'mon Tommy, win those next two.

You're arguing with a Phanboy, so you should realize he doesn't know any better. ;D

As for Glavine ... my god, that man cannot pitch when I am in the same building. I can't explain it.

As you might remember from Bubbler's nerd thread, I've documented all of Glavine's starts for which I've been in attendance since 1987. After tonight, he's now 6-11, 6.26 ERA, 96.1 IP, 129 H, 67 ER, 43 BB, 54 K, 16 HRs allowed in those 18 starts. Just atrocious.

Just think if I ever would have had season tickets as a kid. Glavine would've been sent down to Richmond in 1990 and never come back. He'd be Derek Lilliquist. :D

Chuck James needs to have a good start tonight for the Braves. Smoltz and Hudson seem to be fine, and if James can be a legit No. 3 then maybe Atlanta can throw up blind monkeys for its No. 4 and 5 pitchers and still have a chance to stay in this thing.

Wow, be easy there BYH. I guess I should have bolded the part of my comment that would have made it more clear where I was going. I guess it went well over your head(s). Here's something that may make it a little bit more clear. Oh, and have a great declaring "I am not gay" to the media day.

For fantasy baseball sake, I hope James does well today. But, I hope the rest of the Braves' staff goes down hard. It'll serve them right for 1999. And the other 13 seasons.

I think they just announced on the Cubs broadcast that Chris Carpenter had Tommy John surgery today.

I saw that on the ticker yesterday. He is out for the year and most of next year.

Because he was trying to come back and pitch this season...then there was a set-back...and then they settled on surgery.
