Time for the Braves to lose (good for the Mets) as long as Barry Balco has nothing to do with it.

And, the Yankees have wrapped up the AL Wild Card.
It's down to 4 in ther loss column and there is no doubt the Indians will tank. The Red Sox don't even factor into this now. All the Yankees have to do is beat the shit ass overrrated Indians and they're in. Done deal, I'm very sad to say.

Ang: I am a Red Sox fanboy looser, I will admit that, but I'm not talking out of my ass here.
Ortiz's numbers have been down all year, and I think they will pick up.
Schilling has been pretty good, even before he was hurt. Not great, but Schilling is still a pretty good guy to have as a veteran in the clubhouse.
And the only reason I put WMP in with those guys is to show that they have all struggled to hit, but yet the Red Sox continue to have the most wins in baseball (61 as of tonight thru 100 games).
Not to sound like a complete dick, but with the MLB.tv package and XM radio, I've watched/listened to just about all the Sox games this season, so I think I know a little bit about what I'm talking about.
The Yankees have scored 56 runs in 4 games. That streak will not continue. I don't think they will catch the Red Sox because it doesn't matter how many runs the Yankees score if the Sox continue to win.

Isn't Ortiz playing with a torn meniscus? If so, then his power will continue to struggle.
I don't buy the theory of Schilling being very good when he comes back, but we will have to wait and see I guess.
I don't watch a lot Red Sox games by any means, but seeing as how I hate them I read a lot about them.
And no, the Yankees offensive surge will not continue at this pace, but the Red Sox won't win every game, plus there are six games between the teams left.

Also, how pissed do you think Selig is that he had to wait around until the 13th inning to see Bonds get walked for the umpteenth time?

How long until one of you claims Bonds' giant head caused the ball to hit his body and be safe at second?

It will only be truly rancid if Rick fucking Aurilia hits a three-run homer.

You like Bonds and the Yankees. Is your name Louis B. Cifer?

Watching the Braves pen, I am now convinced the Mets don't even have to play well to win the pathetic NL East.

And, Ang, forget the Red Sox. You're guys have the wild card locked, guaranteed.

great job, fellas. shat away a 4-run lead, and dang near wanted to do away with a 3-run advantage in extras.

hey, chris woodward. you can't hit major league pitching. thus, they call you a "defensive specialist," or whatever.

but here's the thing. if you drop trou in the field like you did in the 13th tonight, you are of no use whatsoever as a major league baseball player. simple as that.

  10. He looks at a fastball right down the middle to end the game?

    Holy crap.

Seriously, King Cranium (does that mean fat head, no brain) take that shit to a braves fan board please.

Yeah, we're all fans of somebody, but most of us are professionals, as well...not 14-year-old idol-worshippers.

God, I sure hope not. They actually need to get him signed before he gets on the market. He's a good hitter, great defensive centerfielder and an excellent clubhouse guy. In 2009 you'll have Bourn in left, Rowand in center and Victorino in right. That might not be a power-hitting outfield, but it will be a great defensive outfield.
