Memo to Bill Bavasi: Please, please listen to the guys at USSMariner.com who are far smarter than you and call up Adam Jones now, and whatever you do, don't even think of trading the farm system for Dontrelle Willis. If you do this, I may have to consider setting myself on fire outside Safeco Field in protest.

    Sincerely,
    Statrat

    P.S I'm not Dave Cameron.

    HaHaHaHaHaHa,
The Mariners are going to trade for Dontrelle and solve all of their problems?

    Please do, by all means.
    This would be hilarious.

Nothing funnier than Alex Gordon's garbage time production.

Notice his "critic" has been silent for weeks. Good.

BYH, I love you in a poster-male sort of way, but I have to say this: his critic has been silent for weeks and that is a good thing, we can all agree. But his critic and I have seen your boy lose two-in-a-row. The Red Sox offense has suddenly gone cold when your boy pitches and I love it. I like you and all, but I hope your boy does a Doug Drabek impression the next time he throws.

    Yours,

First of all, the sentence "BYH, I love you in a poster-male sort of way..." is hilarious, yet oddly disconcerting in the "is he looking at my ass" sorta way. Not that there'd be anything wrong with that.

As for my dawg Beckett, he's lost one in a row, not two in a row. He beat the ChiSox in his previous start last week. And over the last two starts, he's got 17 Ks and two BBs in 14 innings. He'll be just fine, regardless of whether the Red Sox score much for him or not. Eighteen wins is well within sight. The next Doug Drabek imitation he does will be when he holds the Cy Young Award aloft--maybe not this year, but some year. Soon.

    Yours,
    BYH!

Notice Gordon couldn't get a meaningful single? Otherwise he would have hit for the cycle. Three worthless extra-base hits.

This was a great column in today's Baltimore Sun by Rick Maese. Any baseball fan will love it.

Truth is, everything Alex Gordon does is done in garbage time.
He plays for the Kasas City fucking Double A Royals. Everything after May is garbage time! ;D :D

Is that to suggest they're in it for the first two months?

Now, now, let's not give the boys in blue too much credit. They were out of it ... what, April 15? So technically, you're right. Alex Garbage.

So the Post says that Dmitri Young and the Nationals are close to signing a 2yr/10mil contract. Jim Bowden is reminding everyone again what a flipping idiot he is.

Nice column on Ripken, headbutt, thanks for posting.

And my personal thanks to Jorge DeLaRosa for helping me sleep last night.
