BTW, the Indians just assured themselves a 59th straight season without a championship. Kenny Lofton is the anti-Robert Horry.

    Fun fact of the night:

    A-Rod on his 32nd birthday -- 499 homers
Bonds on his 32nd birthday -- 317 homers

A-Rod sitting on 499 HRs, Tom Glavine sitting on 299 wins.

Which have there been more of to this point ... 500 HR-hitter or 300-game winners?

    500-homer hitters.

More impressive record: Glavine winning 300 games and ARod hitting 500 homers clean-as-can-be or Bonds' 756 tainted homers?

    Wrong, Doc!

I was stunned to find out Glavine will be the 23rd 300-game winner, A-Rod will be the 22nd with 500 HRs.

Of course, that should change before the end of this season

    Some Saturday notes...

    1. Francisco Cordero blew game 1 of the DH at St. Louis, and per my friend watching the game, his fastball didn't top 88 in the final inning, where he gave up four hits and three runs.

    2. Ty Wigginton has been dealt to the Astros for Dan Wheeler, per multiple outlets. Seems the 'Stros don't think they're out of it. Interesting.

    3. Matt Murton a last-minute scratch from the Cubbies' lineup. Also, Griffey not in the lineup for the Reds.
