Since this fifth BCS game, theses matchups have been so watered down. Lets just make everything a BCS game.

Also, interesting to note that Cinci finished #3 in the BCS, meaning they likely would have gone to the national title game had Texas lost.

    Then stop supporting it. Simple.

These people love the discontent. The system is entirely dependent on it.

But all season the argument has been made that they ARE on the same level as the Texas/Florida/Alabama troika. Look how many people said TCU would kill Texas last night, and that they'd go unbeaten in the Big 12, and that Boise State beat Oregon so there!

Anyone who complains about the matchup who also made the argument that they're already good enough just undercut themselves, because now they're acknowledging that, no, TCU and Boise AREN'T as good as the other teams and that they DO have to prove themselves against a BCS opponent.

And other than Florida, what opponents would there be at that level? Cincinnati is an arriviste, and a TCU-Cincy game wouldn't go over for the same reasons. Georgia Tech and Iowa aren't so good. And Texas and Alabama are in the national title game.

Boise State-Georgia Tech in the Orange and Iowa-TCU in the Fiesta would be a LOT worse than this.

Part of it has to do with Miami, Va Tech, and BC moving to the ACC. This leaves you with several teams that were in Conference USA a few years ago that are now eligible for an automatic spot.

Actually, it would have been fun to watch Tech & Iowa shove up TCU & Boise's respective asses.

    Thinks that's a great idea.

Someone obviously never saw Iowa play against Michigan, Michigan State or Indiana this year. TCU would rape them.

What is preventing Boise and TCU from going independent and getting better schedules that way?

I will watch TCU-Boise, and the Rose, because I love the Rose Bowl as a building and tradition (one of my unfulfilled-as-yet life dreams is to attend the Rose Parade and then the game), and as much of the final game as it takes for Alabama to assert itself (until in second quarter, I think).
Otherwise, forget it. The Orange Bowl? If it was on a Saturday night in September, that baby would be the ESPN2 game.

Actually, I saw all those games & several of TCU's. Iowa would wear them down just like they did everybody else they beat.

And Tech would option the shit out of Boise.

With Cincy against either, the Bearcats may not have the recoginition but it's still an undefeated champ from one of the major six conferences.
