I wasn't even talking about Boise; save yourself the coronary. Heaven forbid anyone crack the BCS conference's little party. I was commenting on the laughable notion that an Iowa victory over TCU was a foregone conclusion

I agree with you in spirit, but that would mean excluding USC, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State --- four of the 10 or so most storied programs in college football history --- from the "national championship" discussion. There's no way that would ever happen.

Yeah, not so much. You appeared to be saying that there was no way Iowa could possibly ever beat TCU, basing that statement on margins of victory in two games.

I don't even disagree with your premise, merely your method of defending it.

And Nebraska, which lost to Iowa State won't come within three touchdowns of Texas...

    Idiot.

Everyone please also remember that if you want an NCAA-operated I-A football playoff, it must include the champions of all 11 conferences in some form or fashion.

If it's handled by another consortium, however, all bets are off.

Not to mention that if the NCAA ran the thing, they'd get to be in charge of the money and its distribution, which is probably the real sticking point in all this ...

Boise is very fortunate they caught Oregon when they did, before the Duck
    OL jelled.

A 16-team playoff field this year would look like this:

    1 Alabama
    2 Texas
    3 Cincinnati
    4 TCU
    5 Florida
    6 Boise State
    7 Oregon
    8 Ohio State
    9 Georgia Tech
    10 Iowa
    11 Virginia Tech
    12 LSU
    13 Penn State
    14 Central Michigan
    15 East Carolina
    16 Troy

Maybe Penn State gets knocked out by Navy but other than that, this would most likely be the playoff field.

No need for idiotic arguments either.

Yep. If you're Baylor, why would you vote to implement a system you'll never qualify for?
