You don't lose a championship on style points. You are eliminated by a loss on the field. Boise State was never eliminated. Co-champions.

I'm all for playoffs and giving the little guy a chance and I happen to think that last year's Utah team likely could have played anyone, including Florida, and had a chance to win the national title.

But with all due respect, anybody who has watched these two teams and knows football knows that Alabama would jail-fuck Boise with no vaseline. It wouldn't even be close.

Alabama is the champs, no questions about it.

This isn't like last year where a lot of people came away from the bowls thinking USC would beat Florida and thus was getting screwed, not even remotely close.

 

Especially since Mark Ingram's dad would give the Tide pointers.

 

Then fix the system and force Boise State to take that loss in reality and not just in probability.

Congrats to 'Bama and to Saban, who cemented his status as one of the all-time great college coaches.
Great game there in the middle and late of it, but clearly a dominating performance by the Tide.

 

And if three teams finish unbeaten? Tri-champs? Awesome.

2) It doesn't have to be that way. Fix the system so that teams have to be eliminated on the field and we don't have this problem.
