Boise would. It's Bama that would rather play Georgia State than them.

If Boise State wants to play Virginia Tech, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas and Tennessee, I suspect their SOS might nudge a little higher than 96th.

BTW, Alabama played five teams that were ranked WHEN THE TIDE PLAYED THEM. It's not Bama's fault that losing to Alabama dropped the No. 20 and 22 teams out of the Top 25.

When they played them . . . Bama faced No. 1, 7, 9, 20 and 22. In addition to 3 more teams in the top 40.

Prove it. Bama played BYU (and Oklahoma, and UCLA, and Virginia Tech). Why would they be afraid of Boise?
Prove they had a chance and ran away . . . or quit making stuff up.

Boise issued a statement - we'll play anyone, anywhere with no return trip needed.

    Alabama has not called.

Nor has Florida or any other tough SEC team, because, well, it is hard to call when Chatanooga is on the other line......

And the final BCS rankings are what matter in terms of how tough your schedule is - not some arbitrary ranking from September before anyone has played even half their season.

That game's happening because Georgia State's coach is Bill Curry.

Fine. Stack Boise's schedule up against Bama's . . . based on final BCS rankings.

It's the same deck of cards. Not gonna change that one played one of the nation's best schedules and the other one of the nation's worst.

Zag, my friend, if the Southern Miss message board idiots could read what you wrote here, they'd elect you King of Hattiesburg. USM to the SEC has been their biggest wet dream for decades. Truth is, however, they don't have the facilities to remotely compete in the SEC. They have a 38,000-seat football stadium that is almost never filled, a decrepit basketball arena that doesn't draw flies and minor sports that barely compete in CUSA. Southern could possibly compete in the Big East or the ACC in football and certainly in baseball, but they'd get trampled in the SEC.

And only because the teams in one team's conference are almost always annually way overrated while the teams in the other conference are almost annually underrated.

Oh, well, I just threw that name out there - my point was just that with a little reshuffling we could have 10 conferences of 12 teams.

Even though we all already know the answer.

Alabama: No. 5 Florida, No. 11 Virginia Tech, No. 12 LSU.

    Boise State: No. 7 Oregon.

    According to the CBS 120:

Alabama: No. 5 Florida, No. 13 Virginia Tech, No. 15 LSU, No. 35 Ole Miss, No. 38 Tennessee, No. 40 Auburn, No. 43 South Carolina, No. 44 Arkansas, No. 51 Kentucky, No. 70 Mississippi State, No. 108 Florida International, No. 116 North Texas, I-AA Chattanooga.

Boise: No. 8 Oregon, No. 41 Fresno State, No. 45 Nevada, No. 62 Idaho, No. 66 Bowling Green, No. 75 Hawaii, No. 81 Tulsa, No. 98 Louisiana Tech, No. 101 Utah State, No. 111 San Jose State, No. 114 New Mexico State, No. 117 Miami (Ohio), I-AA UC-Davis.

Alabama's WORST conference opponent is better than EIGHT of the opponents on Boise's schedule, including five of their conference games.

Yeah, that's it. San Jose State and New Mexico State are annually underrated. That's why Boise can't break through -- a lack of respect for Utah State.

Yep. That's it. Tennessee and Auburn really suck as bad as Louisiana Tech and Hawaii. Obviously Bama sucks, too, to have struggled against the likes of those teams.

Never mind the SEC's non-conference record, which is usually No. 1 or 2.

Or its habit of going 5-2 in bowls most years.

Or its three national titles in the past four years (get ready for 4 out of 5).

Just a bunch of overrated stiffs that would get their clocks cleaned in the WAC.

Ya know, zag, being a contrarian is cute and all. But cursing the darkness at midday does get a little ridiculous after awhile.
