Who are these Cincinnati-supporting masses of whom you speak?

If the Sugar had picked ahead of the Fiesta, yes, I think they would have taken Boise. There's a track record of ticket sales there. And the Sugar has a clear advantage when selling tickets -- New Year's in New Orleans. Who doesn't want a piece of that?

On the other hand, it would have been three straight non-AQ teams for the Sugar.

Do what I do for a living and that's one of the easiest sentences in the world to read. :)

They write it that way on purpose, so people will gloss over the part that reads . . .

"If mid-major wannabes make a BCS bowl, send 'em to the kids' table."
    ;D

If ticket sales/TV ratings/revenue weren't an issue, why wouldn't a bowl jump at the chance to take the No. 3 team in the BCS rankings and the only unbeaten team from an AQ conference available? Cincinnati had a poor turnout to the Orange and is still a neophyte in the world of God tier college football, even more so than Boise. Nobody wants them.

The Sugar, had it picked ahead of the Fiesta this year, would have taken Boise. Or possibly gone off the board to take BYU, which travels well. But it would have left Cincy for the Fiesta. Having said that, they could have invited the University of Phoenix and it's going to be a sellout because it's Tim Tebow's last game, played within a comfortable drive of UF.

I could be wrong, but I think Cincy will travel just fine for this game. Yes, the program is a neophyte into this level of God tier, and part of it is learning how to travel en masse.

You're also right about the last part: Once Florida was tabbed, the game's a sellout.

Cincy will do better this season, since they're better than they were last year and Florida is a better opponent than last year's Va. Tech. But at best they'll sell out their allotment and not one more, just beacuse all the neutral tickets will go to Florida folk. And they'll happily take any unsold Cincy ticket, thank you kindly.

That said, it's the game I look forward to most.

Which I pointed out 2-3 pages ago.

Cincinnati was never going to the Fiesta Bowl. It was either going to be TCU-Iowa or TCU-Boise. I can't tell you how I know that, but I do.

I'd like to see Collaros start. Won't happen, but in his 2-3 starts when Pike was hurt, Collaros was out of this world.

Me too, if for no other reason is the off chance that Cincy wins the game because if that happens - a Big East team beats an SEC team -- the river of excuses flowing from SEC Fanboy nation will be so entertaining that we'll all get some popcorn and sit back and enjoy it.....

But, but, but, but Charlie Strong left!!!!
But, but, but they were disappointed because they lost to Alabama!!!
But, but, but Tebow thought the rapture was coming that day and didn't prepare......!!

so, if TCU loses to Boise, do we hear the "we were just disappointed we couldn't play a big boy" excuse?

does texas really have a chance to stay within 2 touchdowns?

SEC will win its 5-6 bowl games and the national title and lose its 2-3 bowl games. Just like it does every year. No excuses needed.
