Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but the guy at Yahoo! wrote a damn good column on how to run a playoff. Get rid of the bowls. Cut out the middle man. Schools earn more money by hosting. Take the non-playoff teams, and eventually the playoff losers and still play the bowls. Yada, yada, yada....

I'm not intelligent enough to break the whole thing down like this guy did, but what he wrote seemed pretty smart.

There's no need to get rid of the bowls, and as for a playoff -- neutral sites work for basketball, so they'd work in football, too. It's only money that makes the smaller school division playoffs take place on home fields.

I just realized my last post said "get rid of the bowls" while also saying "still play the bowls." For those who were confused, I meant that they'd play the playoff games separate from the bowls.

Also, this Jenn Brown lady (just for you, Moddy) on ESPN is pretty hot. (Is "hot" still an acceptable term?) I watched a few of those Road Trip things on ESPN.com the other day. Cheesy, but pretty cool to see which places they visit in each college town. I was hoping to see that they made it to Blacksburg this fall. They did not. They would have had a blast at TOTS.

Not exactly. It covers area south of Fort Worth and east Dallas and east of Dallas plus a lot of land south of the Metroplex. And he's a grad of Texas A&M and Purdue.

The bulk of the population in that district is in southeast Tarrant County, which is Arlington.

You've never dealt with Kentucky basketball fans.

    Looks like an LPGA trophy.

In Fresno, they're bored and whining about a second straight bowl trip to ABQ.

Also, if Army wins today it goes bowling.

    GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!

I don't think this bill will get any steam, but if it does, I think a few Chamber of Commerce types who write the checks for House and Senate members might behind their elected officials how much money bowls make for a community. For example, non-BCS bowls such as the Chick-fil-A, Capital One, Outback and Gator are either sold out or will be. Don't you think restaurant, hotel and shopping mall owners/managers will remind their congressmen and women that the bowl system is very good for them?

    Since I didn't see a I-A playoff thread ...

How is it not snowing at this AppState/Montana game!?! I feel cheated.

NW Mizzou State wins the D-II title with a 30-23 win over Grand Valley State.

And Inky, I believe a massive storm will hit Grizzly Stadium sooner than later.
