I didn't see that SMU blowout win coming.

I know June Jones just signed a contract extension, but if he can resurrect both Hawaii and SMU and especially if he coaches the Ponies to 10 wins next year, he's got to pop up on the national radar.

Was SMU really a 13-point dog in this useless game?

June Jones seems like such a dick every time I see/hear him. I have to think this will keep him from getting a top level job.

Jones is in his mid-to-late 50s. He's been an NFL coach before. It's not like he's never gotten his shot at the big time.

Division I is lousy with dick coaches. Not knowing the man, I don't see it as an impediment.

His buyout, on the other hand, may be a bigger one for the next year or two.

Unless Hawaii is playing in the game, those Hawaii bowl games don't draw jack. And they used to have two the same day, maybe a total of 10,000 attendance combined.

I don't need to see any more games to put Padron (SMU) in as the QB on my all-bowl team.

Because assholes never get great jobs *coughNickSabancough*.

If he wins big enough, he'll get offers.

Here is the problem I have with the bowl season...

There are 34 games and I can't come up with more than ten I have any interest at all in watching and I can't come up with five I'd consider "must see".....at some point, somebody, somewhere needs to see that SMU versus Neveda in Hawaii or Temple versus UCLA in Washington D.C. is NOT a good idea, nor is it good television....

If I'm at home (usually am), I watch damn near every bowl game every year. I don't really understand people that complain about having "too many bowl games." I understand if you want a playoff, but I don't get what is accomplished by having less bowl games if we keep the bowl format. Why in the hell should I want LESS college football on TV? So we can have more bowling, billiards, or darts taking up that time? Unless you can come up with a better idea to fill that time, it's ridiculous to say it's not good television.

Agree - its like threads on SJ. Don't click on the thread if you don't like the subject.
For me I find enjoyment on focusing on individual players in games with less than intriguing matchups. Also find that you get a decent idea of what teams will be good for 2010
