That was kind of my point. Mizzou has been/is good enough that facing a shit Georgia team in Shreveport is irrelevant, as is beating Navy or Minnesota in a bowl game. The fact that Mizzou fans seem to be so upset about not going to the Independence or Insight Bowl is what is so odd. Teams with better records get passed up for worse teams every single year in every single conference.

Ironically, Rich Brooks; Thomas Autzen, the stadium's namesake, and Shirley Moshofsky, half of the namesake couple for UO's indoor center, are all Oregon State graduates.

And I hope A&M's special-teams coordinator rents, given the current real estate market.

Bo Frickin' Ho. Try TCU having to play Boise State, a team the Frogs beat last season in a bowl game, instead of playing Cincinnati or Florida.

I think TCU has more to prove than Missouri. It's a no win situation for TCU. Beat BSU and people say wow you beat another non-BCS team. Lose and everyone says see I knew they weren't any good.

Utah ripping Alabama last season might have set non-BCS team a step back.

I know three guys still in the business who covered that Garden State Bowl. There are about six others who were there who are no longer journalists and they were pretty damn good ones too.

Brooks is likely headed for retirement after this year. The guy might be one of the most successful coaches ever to finish his career with a losing record. But what he did at Oregon and Kentucky should not be overlooked. Oregon was a perennial loser when he got there, and he pretty much put it in position to succeed like it does today. Kentucky was on probation, playing with 60 scholarships, when he took over, and he just completed his fourth straight season with seven or more wins, which hasn't happened at Kentucky since Bear Bryant was there.

He might end up having a second field named after him.

Rich Brooks shows what can happen if ADs let coaches coach and don't just can a guy after five years if the team isn't contending for a title. There is really something to be said for patience.

    You calling me boho? Cool!

Believe me, I agree about how bad TCU and Boise got screwed (cue the Mystery Meat II signal)

Let me see if I get this straight - somebody thinks it is a good idea to have Temple - Temple for christ's sake - play a 6-6 UCLA team in Washington D.C. in the EagleValley Bowl or whatever the fuck this is I just flipped on?

No, there aren't too many bowls..... ::)
