WisconsinNorthwestern ran a trick play out of FG formation -- with the backup kicker on the field -- on fourth-and-goal, kid got tackled OB at the 2.

That's what I get for not paying attention.

Northwestern's kicker was hurt, so they trotted out their 12-year-old back-up kicker. Ran a fake field goal, and Auburn DB knocked the runner out of bounds at the 2.

As with Idaho's 2-point conversion the other day, great call if you make, stupid if you don't.

    EDIT: Wisconsin?

Continues to be excruciating to be a Big Te-leven fanboi......now 1-2, with the losses being by a combined 4 points. Sigh.....

Actually play was set up pretty well. NU's blockers on the edge, whiffed the sh*t out of their blocks. Can't say it was a stupid call, though. Kid they trotted out has never kicked in a college game....Fitz went for the kill shot. IMO....

I understand going for it when you're starting kicker (even one who had a horrible day) is hurt. But why not bring in the offense and run a regular play — especially when you've moved the ball the whole game.

SEC honestly hasn't fared much better thus far. Came into today 1-2, Outback Bowl could have gone either way, and Penn State is currently grinding LSU into dust.

Still five SEC bowls to go, however, so it could be nothing more than a blip.

Maybe so, but I doubt anyone else on the field had run such a play with a game on the line, either. It was nothing more than an extra point. If you can't count on that kid to make that kick and extend the game, why's he on the team?

Is anyone else as surprised as I am at just how fucking bad Florida State is on both sides of the ball?

My God, this is a really tough game to watch.

And how is it possible that WVU is not only not up by 21 or so but they are trailing?

Big Te-leven goes to 2-2, gets the split w/ the SEC.

Now....it's now time to turn on the Buckeyes. Please excuse any mindless, fanboi garbage that comes out of me for the next 4 hours. I try...but I can't help myself...

questionable personal foul penalty hurt LSU at the end, but it's a given they would have still mismanaged the clock...just further down the field

West Virginia was outscored 30-7 in the final 50 minutes by a team with a shaky freshman quarterback and a terrible defense....

  12. It'd be nice to see Ohio State win this one.
