I'm in a bowl pool where you have the weigh the games based on how certain you were of the outcome. The second the Florida-Cincy matchup was announced, I put the highest point total on Florida. After the loss to Bama, there was no chance the Gators weren't going to kill the Bearcats.

"Three seconds left to play in the first quarter."

No, Pat, that's three seconds left on the play clock. 7:45 left in the quarter.

Depends on your definition of higher. There's a North Georgia, a South Georgia, an East Georgia and a West Georgia. East and South are JC's, though, as Bowden pointed out yesterday.

Ole Miss sends its mammoth defensive lineman Jerrell Powe off tackle twice in an attempt to score the first points in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
Powe is denied twice by Okie State defenders at the stripe.
Still 0-0 late in the first.

UConn up on SCarolina 10-0 and USF killing Northern Illinois at Toronto

Give him points -- he owned up to it.

But still . . . very, very bad.

Insult to Injury Department (or is it 'Injury to Insult'?):

According to the SID's fb posts, a team bus for the Cincy Bearcats in an accident on the way to the airport. Sounds like there might be some minor injuries, no fatalities (thank God).

    WHERE'S YOUR TEBOW NOW?!!?!?! :p

And yet, the head-to-head record between the SEC and Big Ten in bowl games is an astonishing 15-14 record in favor of the SEC.

I know, I know. Only the national championship games count, right?

If you treat the Carolinas as a single entity, you have North, South, East and Western (and Coastal, just for the hell of it). I want to say Louisiana and/or Missouri might have had four directions before renaming some of them, but they were aligned NW/NE/SE/SW. And Michigan has Eastern, Central, Western, Northern, Northwestern, North Central and Southwestern.

Also, many North Carolina counties name high schools by directions. I think Guilford may have all major points on the compass covered, so the next school they open might be NNW Guilford or ESE Guilford.

Who was the last quarterback who you were surprised didn't turn into a good pro?
