So ... you scream and slobber about people making excuses for SEC teams. And then you ... make excuses for Cincy.

    OK then.

They're lighting up the scoreboard in Memphis.

    Zero-zero in the second quarter.

    Zzzzzzz.

I'd rather have Dick Clark announcing the Cotton Bowl than Pat Summerall. Hearing him struggle detracted from my enjoyment of Missouri's Cotton Bowl win a couple years ago.

What excuse was that? "Nothing more, nothing less" doesn't sound like an excuse.

Bowl games don't prove the strength of a conference. Seriously, were people going around saying that the first week of bowls proved the Mountain West is the top conference in the FBS?

Hey, Ryan Malett, you're a football player. You don't need to wear pajamas under your uniform.

Bowl losses by SEC teams prove the SEC sucks. A blowout bowl loss by Cincinnati is just one bad game and doesn't mean anything.

The No. 9 SEC team vs/ C-USA champ is not the best way to prove if a conference sucks or if a conference is "worthy."
This Liberty Bowl's turning out to be entertaining however you look at it.

Also, from the Cotton Classic postgame notes, a conference vs. conference tidbit:

The SEC has won six of its last seven Cotton Bowl games against its Big 12 opponents, with Ole Miss responsible for three of those victories, in 2004, 2009 and 2010.
