  1. Seriously, what a fucking copout.

Funny how nobody would complain if this was two BCS conference unbeatens playing.

But even though this board is choked with talk that there's no difference between the mid-major unbeatens and the big school unbeatens, somehow this isn't "fair".

Unless you're acknowledging that TCU and Boise are a level below Texas and Alabama and Florida, why is a matchup between highly-ranked unbeatens bad?

Either they're the real deal or they're Valparaiso. Can't be both.

They're not "owed" anything, but it's getting tiresome to hear the big conference defenders carp out of one side of their mouth that Boise isn't playing a good enough schedule, and then saying out of the other side of their mouths that it's OK that no power team wants to go play them. Seems as if it's kind of a no win situation for the Broncos.

I give Oregon (and I think, Oregon State, too a couple years ago) all the credit in the world for having the guts to go into Boise. It'd be nice to see some of those SEC or Big 12 schools that load up on cream puffs agree to play a home-and-home (or a 2-for-1 or a 3-for-1) with a Utah or a Boise or a TCU.

Well, if TCU and Boise are legit and TCU should be in the national title game, why should anyone be disappointed that they are playing each other? I mean, they deserve to be in the BCS, right? Several people here will argue that Boise and TCU are better than most of the other BCS teams, so it shouldn't be disappointing to see two undefeated teams play each other...

By my count, there are five bowls on the traditional Big College Bowl Day -- Jan. 1. And there are five bowls on Jan. 2, and 4 bowls after Jan. 2. Yet one of the big arguments the anti-playoff crowd makes is "we can't mess with tradition!"

    Good grief.

I'm fucking furious over this. We could have had Boise/TCU vs. Florida and then the other team vs. someone else. We could have had two great bowl games. Now we have two crappy ones.

I am so mad about this.

Cincy-Florida in the Sugar could be an assload of fun.

That means the Orange is gonna SUCK ASS.

It'd be nice to see them get to play one of the teams from a BCS conference, that's all. This feels like the frat scene at the beginning of Animal House where they send Dorfman and Kroger over to the nerd's table.

If Obama really wants a playoff, he should have the White House staff design a trophy, and haul it with him to present to the winner of the Fiesta Bowl on the field after the game. That would stir some shit.

The problem is the arguement is out there that TCU and Boise aren't on the same level. And by not pitting either of them against an undefeated Cincinnati or a one-loss Florida, then no matter who wins in a match-up between the two, the arguement still exists. But if both go and beat those two in separate bowls, it only gives more legitimacy to those who feel they are on the same level and should be treated as such.

So, which game will have the worst television ratings in BCS history, the Fiesta or Orange Bowl?

In addition, why should Boise call TCU and try to play? Apparently, they're going to play each other every postseason no matter what happens.
