Mac Court was loaded with atmosphere and ambiance, and I have extremely fond memories of games there.

It was also cramped, incredibly uncomfortable, and seemed on the verge of collapse 30+ years ago. Whatever they gave up by moving to the new place, it was worth it. I'll take an antiseptic arena if I'm at least confident the upper deck isn't going to fall on me.

 

That uncomfortable moment when your team is getting its ass kicked and you realize your elaborate game day costume just makes you look stupid.

Having been to the TTATT several times, however, antiseptic is high praise. However, it is closer to Track Town Pizza, so there's that.

That's why I love Gill Coliseum, even though it just turned 75 years old, can get hot when crowded, and needs more concessions/bathrooms. It still is a great place to watch a game, there are no bad seats, gets loud as hell, smells/feels like a historic arena, and with the recent upgrades it's a perfectly functional arena for the next 30-40 years because it's built stronger than a Normandy pillbox.

 

And classes start Monday. Hahahahahahahahahaha
