16 means more money and more TV product. It won't improve the playoff, but there is money to be grabbed. It's coming.

 

It also means the first round games no longer get exclusive time slots, so the payout wouldn’t increase as much as they might expect.

And given how far up Notre Dame is on the D-I food chain, don't people think the boosters, NBC contract and Under Armour contract mean the program can pretty much afford whoever it wishes to play quarterback?

 

Yeah, but in a general sense they take very few transfers who are not graduate transfers. That may change with the portal and NIL. I'm sure that there is more than a little pressure to make some concessions to get more football players enrolled, but I still think they'll be pretty picky about who they take.
