Oh my God. I still have trauma from the first time I realized the Deep South did that in lieu of salting the roads like Tennessee did. I’d have been better off trying to raw dog it instead of driving on glorified kitty litter.

Over the last couple of decades the highway department has gotten better about spraying the brine solution ahead of time, which is often sufficient for conditions here.

This picture tells you all you need to know about Texas and snow. State Line Avenue in Texarkana.

Funny thing is, I can't tell which side is which. Which state is more about FREEDOM and less about the "nanny state."?

The cars in the Cascade Valley don't rust because they don't salt the roads at all in the Pacific Northwest. You get sand and like it.

I would assume Arkansas has the cleared road. Being home to the Ozarks would acquaint it with the need and means for proper winter storm response, even if the mountains don’t reach that far.

My little brother went to the 1979 Cotton Bowl game, University of Houston versus Notre Dame. That's the one where Houston jumped out big in the first half, then Joe Montana, who had sat out the first half with the flu, came in and engineered a huge comeback. Anyhow, the game was basically played during an ice storm. My brother literally had to chip the ice off of his seat. Then after watching his team lose to a last second comeback he had to drive from Dallas to Houston on an interstate skating rink.

Kinda glad I missed that one.

    LOL.

Up in the hills, you’re on your own. Unless you live in Bougieville with the Walmartians.

I've been watching this kid in the travel football world the last few years. He sure looks legit.

I'm already accepting that my Razorbacks won't have the NIL money for him.

The reference to Arkansas State being the latest to offer him a scholarship made me laugh.

We have a stateline road that separates Indiana and Ohio. I think Indiana plows the entire road. It is funny to see which side of our town does a better job plowing on a storm-to-storm basis.

My wife did have a case on marijuana and gun charges that pivoted on which side of the road the guy was driving when he got picked up. He made the wrong decision and kept driving to his mom’s house to pull over and was in the wrong state for the charges.

I’m in the Northeast and we use a magnesium liquid chloride solution that goes on before the snow, to help in melting. It works in lower temps and is somewhat safer for the environment.
