Why was no one back to catch this in the end zone and run it back?

I am and always will be a bowl fan. A lot of good teams will end their season with a loss because they aren't the best team in the country. Even if a team has a just OK season but wins even a middling bowl, their fans are happy because you remember the bowl game, not that you laid an egg in early October.

A lot of these first-round games would have been New Year's bowl match-ups under the old system, right?
Tennessee fans sure seem to be treating it like a bowl trip, in terms of showing up to the game.

I'd sure rather spend New Year's Day in Orlando or Tampa than the Winter Solstice in Ohio.

I’m rolling my eyes at the coverage of the “bitter cold.” It could easily be 30 degrees colder this time of year. There could be a foot of snow. I wore slides out to get the mail today.

It's an interesting combo. It's more important than any bowl game, but its locale is not a tropical paradise.

PAAAAAAAWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLL ... we can't play in weather like this. Have Greg get us warm-weather/neutral-site game sites for the playoffs. And get us 12 SEC teams in the playoffs since we don't play everyone in the regular season because we wear skirts and need to play Mercer.

It's 25 degrees. Up until the Nineties, this was perfectly normal November weather for anything north of the Mason-Dixon line.

It’s 33 degrees here south of it. And it’s 29 in Knoxville.

    But it’s December.
