Make ‘em play all four in Dayton next year. All four games were duds at home sites, even the 8-9 game.

The old four-team playoff had a lot of blowouts. Why would that be any different with 12 teams? And it'll be that way even more with 16. But home games add so much color to this format and eventually you'll have upsets. And like first/second round NCAA games, they'll also be so much more attainable to regular fans than national title games.

To face a team that won its semifinal 66-0.

That's the thing. It's going to take a while for the upsets to happen.

But year one was a success in terms of the crowds, I'm going to guess the ratings were solid. Plus you got a Texas-Clemson game for the first time ever. An SEC school playing at the Horseshoe for the first time in 35 years. Friday night lights at South Bend made for an electric atmosphere. Plus college football can go seasons without too many goes in the elements, but this weekend we had cold and almost some snow.

Personally. I would rather the bowls get the 1st round games and the teams with the byes get the home games. But this time is going to 16 in short time, so whatever

Wondering if a lot of the traditional events of the bowls will continue. I know the parade will go on in Pasadena (as well as sunsets), but things like the Beef Bowl.

    Beef? It’s what’s for dinner.

Plus if you are a semifinal bowl, the holidays are long over, classes are under way (at least remotely) and the teams already did the tourism bit the previous round.
