Emerald Bowl time — I gotta think FSU needs a win really fucking bad.

UCLA's already won its bowl game with the triumph over USC. Bruins might be favored, but heck, they were favored over Wyoming and Fresno State in recent years and flopped in those bowl appearances too. Florida State beats UCLA on Wednesday.

Except Florida State has no offense and UCLA plays some great defense. I just don't see it happening.

I really like P.Cowan's game as well. He can make throws under pressure and he's not afraid to run and get hit.

Florida State plays great defense as well (that's the only reason the Noles beat Miami this year) and the injured players in that unit have had a month to get well. Game could be 0-0 going into the third OT tonight.

UCLA sucks in meaningless bowl games.

If UCLA actually cares about the game, they'll win. The Noles will be uncomfortable in chilly conditions in SF, have zero fan support, and a line that can't block worth a crap. If UCLA has spent the last three weeks feeling good about themselves for the USC win and are already satisfied with their year, FSU has a decent shot because of their skill position athletes.

I don't think the gutless FSU players care a whole lot about preserving Bowden's string of winning seasons since 1976.

Holy fuck these ESPN announcers in the FSU-UCLA game are terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible. I have no idea who they are, and I don't often jump in on the ESPN bashing on this site, but holy fuck... I wouldn't let these two snatchfaces near a broadcast booth for a high school game.

Is anyone else listening? There's no rhythm. No pace. Little expertise. No emotion.

    Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus.

Dan Fouts is doing play-by-play, I believe. And yes, he sucks tremendously.

    Thus, basketball is on.

I just wish the damn game would end so we can finish the paper and go to the bar.
