If you're being forced to watch Rutgers-Kansas State, then you need to reassess your life. My wife's a tremendous fan of "Trading Spaces" but she doesn't drag my ass in front of the television to watch it. And if she tried to, I'd put both of our kids in the car and leave her with a note directing where to send the child support payments.

She needs to find some other alumni in the area to watch games with, so you can be left to do something better than watching K-State football.

But if you're still forced to go, I'd suggest you start drinking about three hours before kickoff so that you won't notice a thing.

I just have to chime in that I love Platyr's use of the phrase "shitload of shit..."

Fear not the redundance, good sir!

Ahhhh ... but Rutgers doesn't want to be in the inaugural Texas Bowl. They're still lamenting the fact their three-overtime loss prevented them from going to the Orange Bowl. I don't think their hearts will be in it, much like Kansas State's 1998 bowl performance when they shit down their pants legs.

For the record, I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend. She's a wonderful woman, and I'm perfectly entertained just being with her. It's really not a problem to watch a college football game with her, even one I don't care much about, which is basically all college football, as far as I'm concerned. My gal looks great in purple, so if the game's a snoozer, I can always watch her.

I exaggerated the level of sacrifice involved for the sake of humor. I was hoping that an amusing discussion would ensue. It did, despite a troll's best efforts to piss on it.

Good point, Plat, about Rutgers possibly not having their heads in the game. These are college kids, after all...and I'm sure they're disappointed in the bowl game and in their opponent. The Cats, meanwhile, have nothing to lose...and that's when they've played best this year.

Jesus, can Bob Knight hurry up and get the fucking win so ESPN can get on with the bowl season?

The fourth quarter of Bama-OK State was actually pretty exciting, but I'm very happy we avoided overtime.

Well, that was a real decent showing by K-State. Guess that river is going to run dry for a while, huh?

Why is Cal running up the score?

    Looks like Cal's coach agrees.

Only six first downs tonight for Kansas State against Rutgers. Such a shame to see K-State get run like that. :D

    I stand corrected.

Kansas State laid a big turd, and it seems I was the only person on the planet who didn't see it coming.

    Yep, K-State = FRAUD. :D

And I had a good evening. To my surprise, the dumb bar we went to actually had a good beer on tap. And my lady's libido survived the loss, I'm happy to report. I think she actually expected the Cats to get steamrolled, so while she was disappointed, she wasn't surprised or upset.

I was also perplexed by Cal running up the score...was watching that other game on a different screen. But since it was A&M, I thought it was funny.
