Running college bowls thread

  1. Is that in Miles contract? Could he walk for Michigan? Pelini would get a run wouldn't he?

If Nick Saban returns to LSU, he should be banned from coaching at any level. Then a perpetual NCAA investigation should commence.

Don't know if Miles has an automatic out for Michigan. God knows they certainly have the cash to buy out his contract. And I wonder if Michigan really wants Miles as much as people here think they do.
As far as Pelini getting a shot at the job, I dunno. After Saban left, the school said they wanted a guy with head coaching experience. That's why Jimbo Fisher didn't get the gig. Course, Pelini did coach that Alamo Bowl game...and a search in 2007 or 2008 would be done by a different chancellor and (probably) a different A.D.

Miles is a long, long shot to ever get the U-M job. And Saban has looked like a money-hungry whore already for years. Obviously he and Jimmy Sexton don't care.

Sorry to get away from the Saban/Alabama/SEC discussion ("I'm tired of talking about this. I'm not interested in Alabama and I never have been" or words to that effect) but I'm getting sick and tired of these in-game phone interviews with other coaches. How many good plays have the ESPN announcers missed while on the phone with the coach-flavor-of-the-week?

Or maybe I should just watch the damned things with the sound off and Bird on the hi-fi, as God intended.

I love watching Navy play when the offense is clicking like this. Middies are up 21-13 midway through the second quarter on Boston College.

But have you seen the Middies in the stands. Santa hats with their uniforms? WTF? No respect.

Anyway, Navy's looking pretty good. Nice pick.

Not trying to bust chops. I have nothing but respect for those guys. They've probably been busting their ass (physcially and academically) for a while. If they want to wear Santa hats at a bowl game and live it up, I say let 'em. They (and Air Force, if it is playing in a bowl) have earned it more than any other student body. Besides, any day is a good day for Sgt. Hulka.

I have a lot of respect for them, too. But apparently they have none for the uniform.

Bo Pelini has to be the mouthbreather extraordinaire. He'd been rumored for the Pitt job and a host of others going all the way back to 2003 and has gotten none of them. If the Great Wannstache Experiment doesnt pan out, I think Pitt should call the guy and say "Listen Al Bundy, no one else has taken risk one with you. Time to suck it up and SHOW you'll be a good head coach, rather than giving each school you interview with a list of bullshit demands (which he apparently did when he interviewed at Pitt). Otherwise, your ass will be 60 and still an assistant. Christ, look at yourself. Ed Orgeron can't even speak English and he got a head coaching job before you."
