Sorry Chuck, Wisconsin won its bowl game and Michigan got routed. If Michigan would have stayed in the game, then I give the Wolverines the nod, otherwise got to take recent play over season accomplishment.

Uh, they did lose to Louisville in the '04 Liberty Bowl with an undefeated season on the line. Louisville is a member of the Big East, therefore, that league is a BCS conference.

Boise State has spent nearly a decade proving that they are a legit program. Boise State has spent nearly 5-6 years proving to anyone that they are not afraid to ball with anyone and go anywhere to play any big team.

They got scoreboard tonight and no argument or criticism against them or the BCS issue is going to take that away from them. This shows on why BCS schools would rather protect themselves from the likes of the Broncos and play the "Wisconsin schedule" of cream puffs for a guaranteed win. And don't even try to blame Boise because of their schedule. If no one wants to play them (besides Oregon State) then tell their conference foes to either play better or risk losing a program like Boise to a better league.

    Viva La Potatoes!!!

ESPN was created in 1979. Just because I was born around that time doesn't necessarily mean that I relate everything to the WWL. I love reading up on the "greatest games" from the past and to understand how compelling they were. Yes I speaking of the great Army teams, Oklahoma, Notre Dame of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's.

Texas vs. USC, 2006 Rose Bowl. Hands down a better game, with much, much more on the line. Also, intensely better players involved in that game: Bush, White, Leinart, Young, etc.

At the time, UofL was still in Conference USA --- which is not a BCS member. Therefore, you can't count the Liberty Bowl win as a victory over a BCS school.

There were NO cliffhangers until the final 2 minutes. It was 28-10 late in the third quarter..on the verge of being a blow out.

Nebraska-Oklahoma 1971 is still the best college game I've ever seen... But I realize none of you children know anything about that game.
And USC-Texas last year is No 2

This was not the greatest game I've seen. USC-Texas was better from start to finish. Ditto for Super Bowl XXV, Super Bowl XXXVIII, Miami-Ohio State, and a bunch of others.

Boise State was only a play or two away from putting this one away in regulation on several occasions and damn near gave it away. Only once Oklahoma threatened to tie the game did this move from "good" to "great."

This was, however, the craziest ending I've seen.

For the record, Boise State's only been I-A for 10 years. Before that they were a I-AA power, just for the record.

Just to make sure, you weren't disagreeing with me right? Because I agree with everything you say.

Sports editor at my stop is a Nebraska guy. Each year, some time during the season, we would be at his place and watch that game, which he had on tape. Never got old because it was a good game ... with some hilarious commercials.

I love how when BSU was up 14-0, there was all kind of talk about, "where are all the BSU haters?" Now that people start asking questions about Boise State's shitty schedule and how, while this was a big win for the Broncos, it still doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, everyone disappears (p.s. I know that was shitty grammar, but I am drunk and I don't care.)
