Don't be hatin' on the school that produced Joe Juneau and Adam Oates, not to mention the greatest college hockey coach of all time - Ned Harkness (too bad he sucked with the Red Wings when he left Cornell). Plus, they've got the dumbest logo in sports history - Puckman

In all seriousness, RPI's got a pair of NCAA titles under its belt, even one as recently as 1985 - not bad for a school that plays with the big boys only in ice hockey, and is D3 (small school) in everything else.

    Ned Harkness... rah, rah.

Ordered the sports tier on cable last night solely to watch Michigan-Michigan State (stations on the tier otherwise suck -- three Fox stations, a soccer stationESPNNews and a couple of other worthless things).
Going to ditch it after college hockey season , but for now -- gotta love a 3-3 tie with a team scoring with 1:51 left to tie it...

For whoever asked, big chunks of the BC and Harvard campuses are in Boston proper. Harvard's arena is in Boston (Allston), not Cambridge.

I think leaving the old Garden has diminished The Beanpot's luster.

Speaking of old barns ... now that BU is out of Walter Brown Arena, I can't think of any true bandboxes in Hockey East anymore. Merrimack, maybe? Never been up there. The old Tully Forum, which last I checked still is in use for high school games, was similar.

And KP is right. Merrimack has no place being in Hockey East.

Merrimack does have a place in HE - hell, each conference needs a perennial doormat that can boast a one-time NHLer. As for the arena, it's on par with a typical high school arena. At one point this season Merrimack played at the nearby Chelmsford Forum. (Both arenas also host the annual Hockey Night In Boston summer showcase.)

As far as the barns go, gotta love the Alfond in Orono.

As for RPI, don't go overlooking Mike Addesa. (that means you, zizzer ;) )

Good luck getting college hockey on relatively mainstream TV over Thanksgiving weekend...

It's still weird seeing Vermont in the Hockey East standings.

I first read that as: Merrimack has a place in HE - hell.

Sorry about the omission, cougs.... was just at RPI this weekend and sadly enough, they didn't have any banners of your boy....
