If and when Wisconsin's Blake Geoffrion makes it to the NHL with Nashville, he'll become (as far as I know) the first fourth-generation player in league history - son of Danny, grandson of Boom Boom, great-grandson of Howie Morenz.

    An interesting little tidbit:

Currently on TicketBastard, if you are so inclined, you can pull up lots and lots and lots of tickets in Section 137, about 20 rows up (in other words, about 35 rows off the ice). They are also blanketing the airwaves with commercials for tickets.

They'll be lucky to have 15,000 actual breathing humans in the building. Those 50,000 empty seats are gonna be quite a sight.

Plenty of good seats available at Ford Field ... to see Wisconsin's 8-1 win over RIT. At least the BC-Miami game is a *little* more competitive.

Oh, yeah, and Geoffrion for Hobey. :)

Plenty of good seats for the second game too. Whose bright idea was it to have the Frozen Four in an indoor football stadium?

Not helping the atmosphere any is that both semifinals have been blowouts.

Who started in goal for the Redhawks, Knapp or Reichard? The box on ESPN has Reichard facing 11 shots and making 11 saves, with Knapp facing 9 shots and making 6 saves. In a 6-1 game (according to ESPN's scoreboard), something's screwy there, right?

Nothing wrong with seeing J-Crew U get smoked.

Anyone know why Knapp started in goal yesterday instead of Reichard for Miami? I haven't followed Miami this year, but Reichard (who I think very highly of after covering him in junior hockey) started more games during the season, and a better GAA during the season. Not that Reichard did better yesterday than Knapp. Just curious if anyone knew what was up. Thanks.
