What's amazed me is the recent rise of UMass Lowell and Merrimack. Those programs used to be a joke. (UML did have some success with Bruce Crowder in the late '90s and has produced some good goalies.)

I don't know if it qualifies as a "heritage" job but it would have to be considered one of the top jobs in college hockey.

DU has a pretty good facility and with no football and a basketball program that has never played in the NCAA tournament, hockey is the flagship program in that athletic department.

UMass-Lowell has dug itself quite a hole here ... Horrible mistakes on the power play.

Quinnipiac (one of my former schools) is on fire, especially the Jones-Jones-Peca line. Though I guess it's actually been the third line getting the goals...

    Yeah, but it's been awhile.

    1967- Cornell beat BU
    1970- Cornell beat Clarkson
    1972- BU beat Cornell
    1978- BU beat BC

And Hockey East didn't start until sometime in the 80s, so all the top teams were playing ECAC at that time anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's first all-New Haven final ever.

Yale wins, first ECAC (and Ivy) team to win since Harvard in 1989.

Dammit, I didn't have Yale in my NCAA hockey pool.
