Running Emmy Awards thread

I would like to give the Academy props for one thing: Snubbing The West Wing.

That was a bullshit nomination from the start. Nothing that show did last year equaled any episode of Lost. WW was a decent show, don't get me wrong. But nowhere close to the level it achieved a few years back or the level Lost is at right now.

Glad to see The Office and Earl get some love. Hated that Colbert got shot down by Barry freakin' Manilow. What a piss poor selection. Jaime Pressly getting robbed by Megan damned Mullally was bullshit, too.

Didn't mind the 24 win, although, I thought this season wasn't as good as season 2. Would've liked for Leary to win best actor, but Sutherland has carried 24 for a long damn time with little love.

 

Yes, I knew I had forgotten someone on the "What celebrity is not generally considered hot, but you think is really hot" thread.

 

Good to see Andre Braugher win for his work on Thief.
I love me some Rescue Me, but Thief was amazing from start to finish. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it on regular cable.
But I can say that about a lot of things on FX: Rescue Me, The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Always Sunny, Over There, 30 Days.
I just wonder why FX can seem to get it right and the regular networks and even the pay channels can't figure it out.

Driving home from work, Drudge said something about Conan O'Brien in a parody plane crash sketch, which in light of what happened in Kentucky was obviously in really bad taste. Could somebody tell me more about it?

 

I didn't see it, but the AP write-up said it was a parody of Lost with Conan's plane crashing on the island.
