I'd go Davis over both Olsen and Johnson. With Gore possibly out again they'll have to throw more to keep up with a SEA attack that's also allegedly going to throw more from here on out.

Am I crazy to think about benching Tomlinson vs. Indianapolis and starting Lynch against Miami?

I got laughed at by my league for choosing not to take a running back until the fifth round of the draft in a 12-team league. I went Palmer (11th overall pick), CJ, TO and Moss. For some reason, one Adrian Peterson was sitting around when I picked in the fifth.

    Guess that's why I'm 7-2.

  4. UGH! Are they're reports that Gore is going to be out again?? Or is that just based on last week? In a roster crunch, I just cut his backup Michael Robinson, who I picked up at the last minute last week, to pick up Chris Henry.

I'm glad I picked Priest up off waivers a couple weeks ago and Kolby Smith off waivers earlier today.

I have a special place in my heart for Priest. He single handedly took me to the title game of my fantasy league back in 2002 and 2003.

  6. I picked up Priest earlier today as a bye-week fill-in for Graham. But that means I was planning on my RBs this week being Priest and Gore with Selvin Young, who I've been stashing seemingly forever as Travis Henry's legal trials drag on and on and on as the backup. The decision came down to cutting Young on cutting Michael Robinson, who I picked up at the last minute last week to replace Gore. The crunch came in because I need a TE this week to replace Ben Watson, who has a bye, and I'm not cutting him for a fill-in like Olsen, Eric Johnson or Vernon Davis. CRUD! CRUD! CRUD! Now it looks like I should have cut Young. Why can't all football players be like Favre (who I picked as my backup QB and who is now my starter) and just play through everything? I actually thought of cutting my backup QB and just going with Favre, since he's had his bye, the rest of the way. Maybe I should have done that.

Well, my big trade I posted a couple pages back didn't help me this week -- but I guess I timed that trade of LJ just right!

Just noticed that there were 666 posts on this thread, so I might as well make that change.

Who is more valuable at this point: Brandon Jacobs or Marshawn Lynch? I like Lynch, but I figure he is going to hit a wall at some point and since Jacobs didn't play much early on because of injury, he should be fresher down the stretch.
Also, the Giants have a better offense than the Bills.

Basically, I need to trade for a backup quarterback to start this week since Jay Cutler is apparently dead. So, I'm thinking of putting out offers for Jon Kitna and maybe Drew Brees (because the guy who owns him is starting Derek Anderson ahead of him) and I am thinking people will be more attracted to Lynch than Jacobs.

    Thoughts?

I think Lynch is a more attractive player at this point. Jacobs is serviceable, but Lynch can do everything, and I think he's heating up now. With a guy like Brees throwing the ball -- all of his 445 yards and three touchdowns -- you should be OK with Jacobs and no Lynch, especially if you've already got Tomlinson (who should never see your bench, by the way).

    Good luck on that deal.

I have Peterson as well, so really I guess it is which one do I want to keep as a backup.

  11. Ok, you have LT, the good Adrian Peterson, Lynch and Jacobs. Lemme guess - you need a QB because your starter is Tom Brady. I WISH I had problems like that. ::)

IMHO Lynch is the better player. But, with the RBs you have, how good of a backup, one-week plug-in do you need and what are you willing to give up. Then again, if your league let you draft all those good running backs, you might be able to fleece somebody and wind up with Kitna or Brees. (I'd think Brees would have the slightly better matchup this week.)

  12. Ok, lemme throw this one out here ...

My starting RBs recently have been Frank "UGH!" Gore and Earnest "Nice replacement for Deuce" Graham. I've been stashing Selvin Young as a supposed starting running back if and when Travis Henry ever gets supsended. Last week, like 5 minutes before kickoff, I picked up Michael Robinson to fill in for Gore.

This week Graham has a bye, so I picked up Priest Holmes to fill in for him and dropped a Robinson. Now I find out though that like last week Gore might not go at the last minute. And he plays the Monday night game.

Should I try to get Robinson back and drop Young? Does anyone out there know if it's going to be worth it to keep on holding onto Young? Some quick checking I did seemed to indicate that Henry's appeals were going to drag on in to December now. One other RB concern though is that Graham might have to start sharing carries with Pittman soon, so it might be nice to have Young if Henry EVER gets suspended.

Unfortunately, this week I need to carry a TE and a backup TE because the Pats have a bye. So it really comes down to Selvin Young or Michael Robinson.
