Running Fantasy Football thread

I do have Brady, good guess.
I also have the problem of having Chad Johnson, but I was able to pick up Lee Evans, so all is OK on the WR front.

I ended up getting Kitna for Jacobs and was not too happy that suddenly Kitna is questionable according to Sportsline, but maybe that is just some bullshit. Hopefully.

Anyway, as has been said on this thread many times, my lineup is down right ludicrous and my league is full of idiots.

That said, I better win or else I am never playing fantasy football again.

Christ, Angola. You could start Doug Flutie this week and probably pull out a win. With Tomlinson and Peterson, who the hell cares about Lynch and Jacobs? I say offer that fuck in your league both of them for Brees. You really won't need another back -- providing you can only play two -- for the rest of the season.

We only play two and yes my league is awful.

I have: Brady, Kitna; Peterson, Tomlinson, Lynch, Turner, Taylor; Ch. Johnson, Ro. Williams, Evans, Colston; Er. Johnson; Jo. Brown; and for now the Bears defense.

A pretty stout team, just not happy about having Brady on the bench this week. Plus, if they start sitting him late in the season, I at least have a viable option in Kitna now.

Yes. Never bench a stud like Tomlinson, you never know what you might miss out on.

Speaking on benching, in a Yahoo! league last week, I meant to put Terrell Owens back in my lineup after his bye week. Instead, I accidentally put Anthony Gonzalez. Um, oops. No matter, I still won.

If that's not a championship set on a silver platter, I don't know what is.

  6. Um, yeah, like Mike said it seems like you could leave the QB spot blank with your team this week and win.

You do make a good point though about if they start to sit Brady. Then again though this is the Patriots this year and don't they have to complete their world domination plan no mattter what - so they might not sit Brady even if it's 62-0 with 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter of Game 16.

a guy offers me two trades. he wants Wes Welker real bad. I wonder if Welker's luck can continue

    1. Marques Colston, Brandon Marshall and Kenny Watson for Welker
    2. Colston and Todd Heap for Welker

    should I take either?
My WRs are Lee Evans, Jerricho Cotchery, Roddy White and Welker
My TE is Vernon Davis and he's been doing good enough the last two weeks
My RBs are Maroney, Jamal Lewis and for this week, Jesse Chatman

my league plays a QB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB and TE on offense. The last three weeks I've won playing three WRs and one RB

thoughts? I like the first trade

I'd entertain the first offer. Colston is the No. 1 receiver in New Orleans and has had a great last two weeks -- 18 catches, 244 yards and three touchdowns -- and it looks like Brees isn't going to start looking away from him any time soon. And Marshall has averaged about 80 yards per game over the last four weeks. Watson, however, doesn't look all that stable. His three-touchdown performance won't happen again this season -- he was playing the Jets, by the way -- and he's only got one score in the other seven games.

That said, Welker is a beast. He is a good receiver; he was with Miami, too. With Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth on that team, Welker has been a great diversion. Only four other receivers have more touchdowns: Moss (12), T.J. Houshmandzadeh (10), Braylon Edwards (9) and Plaxico Burress (8 ).

With Lee Evans, a No. 1 receiver, Jerricho Cotchers, a decent No. 2 -- especially with yardage -- and Roddy White, the Falcons' top receiver, I don't think you need Colston and Marshall. And if Jamal Lewis keeps up his scoring pace, you won't need Watson, either.

I would ditch Watson, so basically its do I want Colston and Marshall or Colston and Heap. I haven't used Cotchery as much this year and he's only scored once.

This week Welker, Maroney and Cotchery have byes and all my other skill guys are playing road games. Colston is at home. I like Colston's fantasy upside for the rest of the year but Welker is hard to get rid of.

    thanks for your insight

    No problem, my friend.

Do receptions and yards count in your league?

And what's your record and in which place are you sitting?

receptions do not. yards do, 10 yards=1 pt

I'm 3-5-1, in 10th of 14 after an 0-5-1 start. playing the worst team in the league this week but it would be nice to have Colston

that's why I'm seriously considering taking the first one, because I like my TE in Vernon Davis, and I see the Saints and Bills getting better. Obviously the Pats won't lose, but come playoff time Welker won't get as many looks as Colston, when the Saints are trying to get in

That's a good point on Colston's looks. But I think Welker's going to get about the same as he's getting now from now until the end. The Patriots will not let up on their opposition.

This is a must-win week, especially against the worst team. If you were to accept that trade now, would it go through before Sunday's games?
