Need help making a flex position decision.

Here are my RBs I have available: K. Jones, C. Taylor, T. Henry, S. Young

Right now, I have Taylor plugged in because I don't want to deal with Jones facing the mighty Minnesota run D. My gut tells me to start Henry, hope he gets 20 carries and does something with it. Mike Shanahan could easily screw me over on that one, though.

What does everyone think? Taylor SHOULD be getting a bulk of the carries against Detroit to help keep the Lions offense off the field and Peterson could get anywhere from 10-20 touches. Who knows.

    Crap shoot.

  2. Defense question...I usually start Jacksonville, but they're playing Indy this week. I'm in a 14 team league so Defenses are pretty sparse. I'm trying to choose between Houston (vs. Tenn) or Miami (who I know is winless, but hasn't given up tons of points, which kill you in my league). I'm leading toward Miami since they're playing the Jets, who are without their two starting WRs and suck overall.

    Thoughts?

I'd lean towards Houston. They have a solid defense anchored by DeMeco Ryans, plus there isn't one player on the Titans' offense that keeps you awake at night. Vince Young? I'd have Ryans spying on him all game long. The Titans' running back de jour doesn't impress me at all, including LenDale White.

Miami is intriguing, but I still think Clemens might be able to get some good passes off. My gut says the Jets' o-line will have a good day, and both Clemens & Thomas Jones will reap the benefits. Don't ask me why, that's just what I feel. And despite what you think about any defense against Indy, J-ville has given the Colts fits over the last few years. If Garrard can keep his offense on the field for long stretches, I like the Jaguars' chances of keeping this from becoming a shoot-out.

  4. Don't know if anyone is awake this late ... but I really need some lineup help because this is for the playoffs and I'm in a bad spot after Favre (who had been my MVP) posted the -2 on Thursday. So I really need to hit everything else right basically to even have a chance.

2 RBs out of: Frank Gore (a bust all season until last week when I had him on the bench) vs. Carolina, Selvin Young vs. Oakland's generous rushing D but splitting time with Travis Henry, Earnest Graham who's generally been solid but how will TB's offense be w/o Garcia or an injured Maurice Morris but against Philly and sharing time with Alexander. I'm thinking of Graham and Gore and hoping Gore doesn't stink it up, but I could maybe be convinced to go with Young.

3 WRs out of: Roddy White vs. Rams, Chris Henry vs. Steelers, Boldin vs. Cleveland, McDonald vs. the Vikings, Branch vs. Philly. All over the map on this one. Henry can be good for TDs, but it is against the Steelers in the rain. The Cleveland D can be tempting, but Boldin has really slipped behind Fitzgerald as far as targets and production. The Philly matchup might be tough, but I like the Seahawks new emphasis on the pass and if Hackett is out Branch might get more targets. So that would leave White and McDonald, but then some of the "experts" specifically said to play White and McDonald.

    HELP!

  5. One other question: Detriot's kicker or Cleveland's kicker?

Need a little help with the flex. If I win this week I'm in the playoffs, lose and I'm out. In addition to rushing/receiving yardage and TDs, we also get points for receptions and return yardage. So pick two:
    - Kevin Walter
    - Lee Evans
    - Isaac Bruce
    - Ron Dayne
    - Kevin Curtis
    - Leon Washington
    - Lawrence Maroney

I'm leaning toward Walter and Bruce. Am tempted by Washington because of how bad Miami's special teams are. Am tempted by Evans because Washington might not be fully focused for the game.

At QB, should I stay with Hasselbeck despite the bad weather or should I start Garrad against the Colts?

For my defenders, using this scoring system: solo tackle (0.5), tackle assist (0.25), sack (2), Interception (3), Forced fumble (2), fumble recovery (3), TD (6), safety (3), pass defended (1), block kick (3)
Which 3 defenders should I start? I'm leaning toward the first three, but am thinking of going with Morrison or Allen in place of Samuels.
    DeMarco Ryans (at Tenn.)
    Osi Umenyiora, (at chicago)
    Asante Samuels (at Baltimore)
    Kirk Morrison (vs. Denver)
    Jarred Allen (vs. San Diego)

Is it just me, or is there a lot more asking than answering on this thread?

FWIW, First-timer, I'd go with Gore and Young (everyone seems to have good days against Oakland), at RB, Boldin (Fitzgerald's banged up), Branch (NE threw all over Philly last week; Seattle could do the same) and White (the Rams suck) at WR.

Keep in mind that in Philly for the game its going to be a rain/sleet mix, temps in the 30s, with some light wind. That could effect the passing game a bit.

I'd roll the dice and go with Jones-Drew and Peterson. J-D can also get you points receiving as well.

Fucking Vikings. Peterson returns. He starts. I start him. He rips off a big run setting up first-and-goal and they give the ball to Taylor to score the touchdown. Fuck.

Seven Detroit Lions have caught passes through a quarter and a half.

None of them named Calvin Johnson.

That's OK, Roy Williams is having a pretty good game for me.
