    LOL.

More evidence is needed one way or the other before anybody can say he wasn't a gentle giant.

Perhaps he did this all the time and it is a lie. Perhaps that was the first and only time he put his hands on somebody and it is true.

More evidence than those photos are needed.

If you were the guy getting lifted off your feet by him, I don't think you'd need more evidence.

Why do we need to cling to a false narrative, based on comments from his family, who were grieving the death of their son?

    They are not unbiased.

    The video has no bias.

He is grabbing the little dude by he collar. Then he flings him away, and stands over him in a menacing fashion, while the little guy scurries away.

Because anyone who has ever worked a beat involving cop reporting knows that police departments release whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want and don't give two craps about the media or public.

Of course, the fact that the man was a criminal does not make shooting him while unarmed OK.

It's classic character assassination. The PD used the phrase "suspected armed robbery" to imply use of force, even though the facts suggest simple shoplifting. And the PD is clearly hoping that the theft justifies the shooting in the court of public opinion. But if that was the reason for the altercation, why wasn't Johnson ever arrested?

Wouldn't their first priority be to protect evidence and not
do anything to taint a possible case?

Umm, have you seen the pictures where he's manhandling a guy half his size? That's not "simple shoplifting."

    It's not armed robbery, either.

One exaggeration does not justify another.

If clerk is middle eastern it could also turn into a hate crime.
